Pilates - Low Impact Workout

What are the 5 basic principles of Pilates?

Breathing
Pelvic placement
Ribcage placement
Scapular (shoulder blade) movement/stabilization
Head/cervical placement

My goal is to have you learn these basics so you can apply them to your daily lives, whether that be working, sitting at your computer, cooking, cleaning, reaching into a cupboard, holding your child, performing basic exercises or higher-level exercises in or out of these classes. Even little things like learning how to breathe better can be incorporated into your busy days.

This class can be taken by clients of all fitness levels, but it is tailored to the beginner, though modifications offered for increased challenge. The focus is on teaching you body awareness and how to use your body more optimally. Learn to breathe, move and feel better!

Minimal props required: long bands, 36" foam roller, pillow(s)/towel(s)
Additional props that can be helpful to have on hand, but are not required: big exercise ball, yoga block(s)

Classes are on Thursdays @ 8:30 am
